Medicare Open Enrollment 2026: What You Need to Know

Medicare Open Enrollment is right around the corner, and it’s an important time for patients to review their healthcare coverage and make sure they’re prepared for the year ahead. At Arthritis & Osteoporosis Treatment Center, we know how overwhelming the process can feel — that’s why we’re sharing a helpful Open Enrollment Guide you can download at the bottom of this article.

Why Open Enrollment Matters

Every year, Medicare plans update their costs, coverage, and benefits. Even if you’re happy with your current plan, it’s a good idea to review your options to ensure you’re getting the best coverage for your health and financial needs. If you plan a change, please check to ensure our practice is still in-network with your new plan. We are Out of Network for most Medicare Advantage plans.

For 2026, there are several important updates, including:

  • A $2,000 annual cap on out-of-pocket prescription drug costs (Part D).
  • The start of Medicare’s drug price negotiation program, which may change some plan formularies.
  • Expanded eligibility for the Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), which can lower premiums and co-pays.
  • Elimination of the 5% catastrophic coinsurance in Medicare
  • Helping make pharmacy medications more affordable.

These changes could make a meaningful difference in how much you pay and what medications are covered.

The 2025 Open Enrollment Guide (for 2026 plans) is designed as a general reference tool to help patients compare and choose the right Medicare coverage. Inside, you’ll find:
